Understanding Why We Need to Limit Added Sugar

added-sugar-comsumptionIf you’re looking to change one thing that can have the biggest impact on your health and body composition, it’s limiting your added sugar. This one change, added to your exercise routine, can take off pound, melt away inches and improve your overall health and well-being.

According to the USDA’s ChooseMyPlate.gov, “Added sugars are sugars and syrups that are added to foods or beverages when they are processed or prepared. This does not include naturally occurring sugars such as those in milk and fruits.”

Here is a list of five books that will help increase your knowledge base on the importance of limiting your daily consumption of added sugar. Before reading these books I would recommend listening to Dr. Robert Lustig’s video on Sugar: The Bitter Truth.
